We do not run an open bootcamp any more. You join us for your industrial training or for your service year, and either way we teach you first, then put you on a live client product beside the people who build it for a living. You do not need experience to start. You need to be willing to learn.

Track one

IT / SIWES Internship

Three or six months

Undergraduates whose institution requires industrial training.

What you actually do
  • We teach you first: the fundamentals, our tools and how we actually work
  • Then a squad on a live client product, with tickets of your own
  • A named mentor who reviews your work every week
  • Your school logbook and ITF paperwork signed off properly
  • Real tickets, real deadlines, real code review
What we look for
  • Enough to show us you can build something, however small
  • A portfolio, a repository, a design file, a campaign you ran
  • Evidence that you finish what you start
  • Your school letter and the dates you must cover

Track two

NYSC Placement

The full service year

Corps members posted to, or able to redeploy to, Abuja.

What you actually do
  • We teach you first, then you are placed on a live client product
  • Treated as part of the team, not an errand runner
  • Ownership of features that ship with your name on them
  • A reference and a body of real work to show at the end of the year
  • The ones who deliver are considered for a paid role after

  • A portfolio, a repository, a design file, a campaign you ran
  • Evidence that you finish what you start
  • Your call-up letter or posting details

How the application goes

    Twenty minutes on a link we send you. We want to hear how you think, not quiz you on syntax.

    Something practical and scoped to a few hours. You keep whatever you build.

    Yes or no, quickly. We would rather tell you now than leave you waiting on us.

Your application

Everything here is read by a person. The last two questions carry the most weight, so answer them in your own words rather than the words you think we want.

Your application goes straight to contact@swizel.co, where a person reads it. We get back to every applicant, usually within a week.

Before you ask

Is this the old free bootcamp?

No. We no longer run the open bootcamp. There are two ways in now: an IT / SIWES internship, or your NYSC service year with us. Both are applied for, and both are selective.

Why is it selective?

Because you are put on a live client project, not a practice exercise. Real deadlines and real users mean we can only take a small cohort each intake, so the application has to be strong.

How long is it?

The internship runs to your school's requirement, so three or six months depending on your institution. The NYSC placement runs the full service year.

What will I be doing?

Shipping. You join a squad building websites, web and mobile applications, designs, or growth campaigns for paying clients, with a mentor reviewing your work the whole way.

Is there a fee?

There is no tuition. This is a placement, not a course. Interns who perform are considered for paid roles, and NYSC members are placed on the normal service terms.

Do I need experience already?

You need enough to show us you can build something, however small. A portfolio, a repository, a design file, a campaign you ran. What we look for is evidence that you finish things.

Can I do it remotely?

Some squads run remote and some run from the Abuja office. Tell us which you need in your application and we will be straight with you about what is available.

What happens after I apply?

We review every application. If it is a fit you will hear from us for a short conversation and a small practical task, then a decision. We would rather say no quickly than leave you waiting.
